The Edge Book Club - Power Eating Questions

Hello fellow book club members. Here are the questions you need to answer in order to receive your .5 BCRPA Credit.

1) What information did you find most useful about the book?
2) Did you change your eating habits after reading this book?
3) How do you think the book compares to the Canada Food Guide?

Cheers

Donna

I have previously been reading John Berardi's books (Precision Nutrition and Nutrient Timing) and found them excellent at explaining the inner workings and for providing a plan for eating properly. I liked the Power Eating book as it contained a lot of information which I did not previously know. If I had to recommend one book on fueling your body for sports I would say Power Eating would be it as it provides great information and probably answers all the questions a newbie to sport nutrition would need to know.

I found the impact that sugar plays in building fat, one of the many interesting findings in this book. Consequently, I am and continue to try to curb sweet cravings by making sure my protein intake is adequate for my activity level. The book is somewhat of a nutrition bible and I am always referring to it - especially the sections on weight reduction.

Additionally, Power Eating contrasts the Canada Food Guide somewhat by advising a greater intake of protein, less starchy carbs and fruits.
